Since 2008, there is a photovoltaic system to produce electricity. In 2010 the thermal power plant was completely refurbished and it is now working together with a solar panels system which enhances the supply of hot water.
Moreover, we are strongly committed to our kitchen and restaurant management, as well as to the waste disposal and we do control all our activities just to make sure we prevent the environment to be affected.
Lately, we have installed a fire alarm system with smoke detectors. This is just our latest commitment for all our gusts’ safety.
A quick journey into our history...
Our history dates back long ago, it was the 1903 when the hotel was firstly built and was then known as “Albergo Colombina”.
In the 30’s, after different managements, the owner changed the name to “Albergo Al Milano”.
Nowadays like in the past, the hotel is in a marvellous location among the green fields that surround the building and the breath-taking view over Lake Iseo. The original building had, at the ground floor, a couple of dining rooms, the kitchen and the outside terrace while the 15 bedrooms were spread between the two upper floors.
The Chiarellis started to run the hotel in 1945 when Angelo and his wife Martina, parents to the current owners, bought the building and got all the licenses required to host people and exercise their profession.
Since the very beginning, Angelo refurbished and modernized the hotel. In 1949 he bought all the land in front of the building so to open the tree avenue which is still the main entrance to get there (current Via Capitano Giovanni Rodari) while another series of architectural projects and improvements ended with the building our guests can currently enjoy: 23 modern bedrooms, the main banquets hall, our bar venue, the TV hall, the outside terrace and further more.
In 1977 Angelo opened the business to his sons Maurizio and Barbara, sole holders since 1987.
Further work in the attic lead to the opening of 9 new rooms where the exposed natural wooden beams of the roof create a unique and warm atmosphere. Some of them also offer an amazing view over the lake from their own private balcony.
Not only did the Chiarellis focus on the building improvements, Maurizio and Barbara also improved their offer. In 2001 they got the newsstand licence while in 2008 they opened the Pizzeria with a typical wood burning oven.
